Event Lighting

The B&E team recently attended and participated in the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce Tradeshow. We thought we should mention what a great time we had! One thing in particular we really enjoyed was the entrance room that had an ambiance of cool lighting and decor. Lighting for an event can be a great way to capture the attention and impact your attendees. Here are some examples of fascinating lighting that we love!

Cort Furniture and Steve Kumble Present Top Design Trends For 2011

With the economy still in recovery, we're seeing more and more companies spending on trade shows and events to truly showcase products, and training. Cort Furnishings recently teamed up with Steve Kamble to discuss the Top Event Design Trends for 2011, here is what they had to say.

1. Patterns and Textiles "Varied textures, color and patterns create a layered effect that enhances the event experience." The picture below shows how bright colors and different types of texture can do exactly that.

2. Creative Seating. "Designers are moving past the traditional sofa and chair by customizing seating to fit the event space and theme."  “The best events incorporate seating with surprising and unusual configurations,” says Kemble.

3. Technology.  "A continuing trend is the use of technology at events.  Whether through touch screen monitors, LED lighting or video games, clients are integrating technology into their exhibits to provide an engaging experience."

Winner of the "Most Creative Booth" Goes to Linens By Alice

This year, Linens by Alice took home the coveted, "Most Creative Booth" award at the 2010 Northwest Event Show. We asked Pat O'Neill, owner of Linens by Alice, where she came up with the inspiration for her booth. Here's what she had to say:

"For the Linens by Alice booth this year, it was time to change things up a bit, come up with a new twist.  My inspiration came from my kids and from an episode of Bravo's show "Work of Art."  I wanted a minimalist look to tell the story of the changing season.  By using the leaves, we were able to showcase our wide range of linen choices. I wanted to share how an event can be tailored by applying seasonality to tablecloths.  We created something whimsical and eye catching because it was unexpected.  I received so much positive feedback - it made people smile!"

Winner of the "Best Booth" Goes to PJ Hummel & Company!

If you've attended the Northwest Event Show in the past, you know our exhibitors pull out all the stops. And this year was no exception. As always, the Show showcased some of the most incredibly talented and creative people around. Each year, the show awards the creativity of our exhibitors, giving awards to the "Most Creative Booth," "Best Showmanship," and overall "Best Booth." In our blog, we'll be featuring mini interviews from the winners.

Today, we'd like to feature PJ Hummel & Company, winner of the "Best Booth" award. PJ gives us insight as to what her inspiration was for her incredible display.

"The Northwest Event Show is the one time of year when I get the opportunity to design for me, and celebrate my passion for the meetings and events industry. I always try to push the limits and top myself from year to year at the show.

This year I focused on creating an environment that was interactive & fun. It's amazing how something as simple as a cloud shaped swing could bring so much delight. My very favorite part of the day was the look of pure joy on people's faces as they tested the swing out.

The show is such a huge team building and morale booster for my staff.  What could be finer than to showcase the best of the best, new trends, and inventory we have for the upcoming season? It was definitely a five star day for PJ Hummel & Company, I am so proud of my team.

I never go to the show thinking I'm going to make a sale; I go to be with my people. Where else could you find a room full of so many industry experts, movers, and shakers? I spent the day giving and receiving kisses and hugs from friends old and new. I owe a huge thanks to the folks at B&E who
organized and put on the best Northwest Event Show yet."

You can choose from Ticings' many designs or create your own. Whether you have a baby shower, birthday party, or a company event, Ticings cupcake and cake designs are a great way to make your homemade desserts look like they were created by a pastry genius!

Who knew a bunch of words could be so beautiful? We love these oversized text posters from Harper Grace. They make the perfect addition to any room or office, and offer inspiring messages to encourage you throughout the day. They also make great gifts (see below for baby gift idea).
